Problem
Enterprise security platform migrations are unforgiving. An organization running an access control or video platform has years of accumulated configuration: cardholders, credentials, access levels, schedules, door hardware definitions, camera trees, and site-specific quirks that nobody fully remembers. Moving that estate to a new platform, or from on-premises to cloud, means translating all of it correctly, because a wrong access level is not a cosmetic bug. It is a door that opens for the wrong person or stays locked for the right one.
Approach
At ATS Integrated Solutions I own platform conversions and migrations end to end as the programmer: mapping the existing configuration, rebuilding it on the target platform, translating hardware definitions to the new platform’s model, and validating that every door behaves the way the customer expects before cutover. OnGuard to Elements is one recurring flavor, but the work spans vendors and directions: Lenel, Genetec, Avigilon, Milestone, on-prem and cloud. The work sits at the intersection of database thinking, panel-level hardware knowledge, and a security mindset that treats every mapping decision as a potential incident if done wrong.
Beyond project work, I provide standing remote system management and programming for service-contract customers, and I am the remote programming escalation for both ATS field technicians and subcontracted crews. When a tech on a ladder hits a configuration problem they cannot solve on site, it comes to me, and I resolve it remotely against the live system so the truck roll does not turn into two.
Result
Conversions delivered as complete handoffs: the customer lands on the new platform with their whole estate intact and behaving, not with a punch list of broken doors. The remote work compounds it, because every managed system stays current, every remote fix keeps a field crew moving, and every conversion builds the playbook for the next one. This is the day-job core of my security work: enterprise platforms, real stakes, no tolerance for sloppy configuration.
